Morals: This unflattering portrayal of the Pratt family was typical of social science at the time and while perhaps discredited due to its later association with the racist pseudoscience called eugenics it provides a picture of the town in the early 20th century

Social: In 1840 there were 7 school districts which according to the researcher, were defined by topography and social groupings.
